2004 Sino-Japanese Export Control Seminar, Beijing

As the Japanese companies are expanding their businesses world-wide, export operation is getting more and more complicated and communication with relevant local authorities is becoming more important than ever. It is also becoming important that the overseas customers have in-depth understanding on the changing circumstances.
Under the situation, we, CISTEC have decided to organize export control seminars abroad, held under the auspices of CISTEC and a relevant organization of the country where it is held, for the purpose of having the companies and institutions of the country and those of Japan better understand the export control of both countries.

The first such seminar was held jointly with China Institute of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), at Beijing, China, on March 5th. The purpose of the seminar, this time, is to develop awareness and deepen understanding on the export control among related personnel of the exporters and related organizations of both countries and to provide them with information gained through experience in Japan. The reason we chose China as the first country to hold such a seminar is because Chinese government is right in the process of establishing a security export control system, now, and investment by Japanese enterprises are rapidly increasing in China.

Japanese Side: 152 persons from 107 entities
Chinese Side: 76 persons from 28 entities
