“Resolution 1540: At a Crossroads”

October 1, 2009 at UN Headquarters, was held a "civil society" contribution to the official comprehensive review of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1540. CISTEC was invited to this event and made a presentation about “Role and Activities of NGO on Export Control”.

The 10th International Export Control Conference

The government of Turkey and the United States jointly hosted the Tenth International Export Control Conference in Istanbul between June 25 and 27. More than 200 from 50 countries and regions participated for the conference. The conference brought together governmental officers, policymakers, licensing officers, enforcement agents, representatives from nongovernmental and multilateral organizations, and industry leaders to discuss current developments and issues in export controls and future strategies to enhance trade security while facilitating free trade. A CISTEC was also invited to give the presentation for the conference.

Report on 2008 CISTEC Mission to Europe

Every year, CISTEC sends the study team of industry members to foreign countries to exchange views on current issue of export controls with respective government officials and industry members.　For the year 2008, we dispatched a team to European Regions from November 10th to 20th, whose visit is reported below in detail.

Seminar Report : 2008 Japan - Hong Kong Joint Industry Outreach Seminar on Export Controls

On December 11th, 2008, Industry Outreach Seminar on Export Controls was held at a conference room in Holiday Inn Golden Mile-Golden Mile, TSIMSHATSUI, HONG KONG. About 150 including Hong Kong officials and Japanese related industries participated, and there were lively questions and discussions during the Q&A sessions regarding Requests for “Japanese exporters on the information of commodity classification” and “Japanese Export Controls Laws and Regulations in English version” by the participants. Seminar Report : 2008 Japan - Korea Joint Industry Outreach Seminar on Export Controls

On October 7th, 2008, Industry Outreach Seminar on Export Controls was held at Seoul Trade Exhibition & Convention (SETEC) in Kangna-Gu, Seoul Korea under the patronage of METI Japan, with cooperation of Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE). About 200 including Korean officials and industries participated, and there were lively questions and discussions for speakers’ presentation on practices and internal compliances in both Japanese and Korean companies during the seminar.
